A few days after Ohio Lieutenant Governor Mary Taylor issued a controversial report claiming that Obamacare would increase some Ohioans’ insurance costs, the Kasich-Taylor re-election team started using that report in its campaign.
The material from the campaign cites the much-challenged cost increase figures from Taylor. It urges supporters to “sign our petition right now,” though it’s unclear what would be done with the petition.
Taylor’s figures were widely distributed by Republicans, while Democrats criticized them as wildly inaccurate. Yesterday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius condemned the faulty information released.
Today, the Ohio Liberty Council, a tea party group, issued an “irony alert,” noting the campaign missive was “odd” considering the Kasich administration’s desire to carry out “Obamacare in Ohio through Medicaid expansion.”
