Republicans in the Ohio State House are trying to defund Planned Parenthood.
Planned Parenthood receive state funds to give health care services for low-income women, like cancer screenings and family planning services.
Now, Ohio Republicans are willing to block money for all of Planned Parenthood services, even vital health services that have nothing to do with abortion.
One in five women in the U.S. has visited a Planned Parenthood clinic. Planned Parenthood clinics don’t just provide family planning resources; they provide vital health care services. Many low-income women depend exclusively on Planned Parenthood.
Anti-woman legislators have launched an assault on Planned Parenthood, and anti-choice activists in Ohio are pressuring their representatives to pass this legislation.
We need to make sure that every member of the Ohio State House, no matter whether they are Republican or Democrat, hears that Ohioans oppose any attempt to defund Planned Parenthood. Anti-choice representatives need to know their constituents disagree with their stand. Pro-choice representatives need to know we have their back.
We saw the consequences of the anti-woman campaign to vilify Planned Parenthood when a Planned Parenthood clinic was bombed in Wisconsin. We saw with the Komen controversy that when we stand up, we can beat the anti-Planned Parenthood activists.
Every time Planned Parenthood is attacked, we need to fight back. Please help us stop this latest effort to destroy Planned Parenthood and block women’s access to health care.
