Sen. Brown applauded an announcement from the U.S. Federal Transit Administration (FTA) that it will award five grants to the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. The grants, which were announced in January by FTA Administrator Peter Rogoff at the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, will be used to rebuild locomotives with energy-efficient technology, replace railroad power cars, and install a pedestrian bridge.
“Together, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and its scenic railroad represent one of the most popular attractions for nearby residents and for visitors to Northeast Ohio,” Sen. Brown said. “These funds will help expand access to the Park’s many attractions and ensure that the scenic railroad is safe and modern. I’m proud to welcome Administrator Rogoff to Northeast Ohio and to our beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park.”
