North Olmsted mayoral candidate Thomas O’Grady removed a political sign for his opponent, incumbent Kevin Kennedy, from a neighbor’s yard.

The incident was captured on a security video. There is no sound on the video, which makes it difficult to decide what is taking place.

O’Grady’s take: He’s friendly with the woman next door, and he thought someone was playing a trick by placing a Kennedy sign in her yard. He said he picked up the sign, carried it to her front door, and asked if she knew the sign was in her yard.

The neighbor offered a different version: She said O’Grady told her “in an aggressive tone” why she shouldn’t support Kennedy. She took the sign and put it back in her yard. She said the family put a Kennedy sign in their yard four years ago, so she doesn’t understand why it was an issue this time.
